This large-scale 3D work consists of a cluster of grey up-scaled knitting needles that are separated and skewed by slabs of corrugated cardboard. The materials used in the work are contrasting; while the cardboard is manufactured the needles do not disguise hand made fabrication and haphazard assemblage. The construction is deliberately crude and is reminiscent of a roughly improvised model.
The work can be assembled at various scales, but does require at least 150cm x 200cm floor space and 250cm height. It’s made of Hydrostone gypsum plaster, PVC pipe, Tasmanian oak, automotive primer and thermoplastic adhesive.
